Flying American Airlines Business Class | Dallas, TX to London, England

If you ever have the opportunity to fly business class for a long and/or over night flight (especially if someone else is paying for it) DO IT!!! It's so worth it! I may be ruined for all other forms of flight travel.

If you fly business class with American Airlines you get to use the Admirals Lounge. The lounge in the DFW airport has a bar and a buffet of tasty food options (soup, sandwiches, hummus, cereal, fruit, snacks, etc), comfortable upholstered chairs, electrical outlets galore, restrooms, and showers. Also, the drink and food options are free!

On the plane there is so much room (the equivalent of 3 seats)! The seat is comfortable, has a lot of leg room, lays flat into a bed, is pointed at an angle, and they are arranged in such a way that you don't see the other passengers so you have privacy. The only seat con is that when it lays down flat there is a weird raised part in the middle of the seat that's uncomfortable, but not so much that I couldn't sleep.

So much leg room!

Tons of entertainment options!

Privacy on a plan. Who knew?

You also receive a kit with a travel toothbrush, toothpaste, ear plugs, eye mask, socks, and writing pen. Additionally, there are noise canceling Bose headphones to use with the TV (those are picked up by the flight attendants at the end of the flight).

Also, the food wasn't bad (it's still airplane food so don't get too excited) and you get a lot of it. After the plane takes off, the flight attendants bring you either orange juice or champagne. Next, you get a dish of warmed mixed nuts with another drink option. Second, there was a mango salad with a salmon roll appetizer and another drink option. The salad was alright (it looked pretty but was hard to eat), but I didn't try the salmon rolls. I'm not a big fish person normally and I am definitely not going to risk it on an airplane, lol. During the appetizer course, the flight attendants also bring a bread basket with three bread options to choose from (tasty).

Third, comes the main course with another drink option. I chose the BBQ chicken with roasted fingerling potatoes and cabbage slaw. I didn't try the cabbage because it smelled terrible. The chicken and potatoes were alright, but not fantastic.

The final course was dessert with another drink option. There were three dessert options: ice cream sundae, cheese platter, or a chocolate torte layer cake. I chose the cake with hot tea and it was good! I was pleasantly surprised. With five different drink options it would be incredibly easy for someone to get plastered, lol. Choose wisely people.

Even being able to lay horizontally, with the time difference I only got four hours of sleep on the plane. By the time the plane was in the air and dinner is over and cleared away it was 9 pm. I woke up just before the lights were turned on and they began serving breakfast (approximately 4 hours later).

For breakfast there was a choice between quiche or fruit and yogurt. I chose fruit and yogurt and it was good. After breakfast was cleared it was almost time to land.

Another perk of business class is the restroom access. There were more of them and fewer people to use them. I never had to wait to use the restroom. Also, the overhead bins are bigger so your expanded carry-on suitcase will fit!

If you have the resources or someone else is willing to pay for it, definitely choose business class! It's amazing!
