Changing of the Guard, Green Park, St. James' Park, Royal Mews, & Phantom of the Opera in the West End | London, England

On day 9 we watched the changing of the guard, visited Green Park, St. James' Park, the Royal Mews, explored the shops in the West End, and watched Phantom of the Opera.

Day 9 was a day of royal activities that began with the changing of the guard. Unless you want to stand outside of the palace at least an hour before the changing of the guard begins, you will not get a good viewing spot. You just won't. It was so crowded!!! It was like rivalry college football game crowded.

Well folks, my time in New England is almost over. In a week and a half I will be all packed up and ready to move back to Oklahoma. But in the meantime I am sightseeing!!!

Mark Twain House & Museum, Grove Street Cemetery, Beineke Library, The Morgan Library, Dylan's Candy Bar, Broadway & Easter | New Haven, CT, New York City, NY, & Groton, CT

Well, it only took 7 months but I finally got an Oklahoman to visit me in Connecticut! My best friend and roommate from OSU, came to visit over Easter weekend. We visited a lot of sites in 4 days but it was so much fun! We toured Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe's houses in Hartford (fun fact they were neighbors).

"...I want to wake up in that city
that doesn't sleep
and find that I'm king of the hill
top of the heap

My little town blues
they are melting away
I'm going to make a brand new start of it
in old New York..."
