"I've traveled every road in this here land" | CT, NY, NJ, PA, WV, OH, IN, IL, MO, KS, & OK

I may not have "traveled every road in this here land" but Mom and I should get medals after surviving my last move.

Newport Mansions, Salem Witch Trial Museum, Peabody Essex Museum, Mayflower II, Plymouth Rock | Mom in New England | Newport, RI, Salem, MA, & Plymouth, MA

It seems like it has been forever since I have written! Life has been a little hectic and you will see why in my next posts. Sorry about the delay, but better late than never :)

Mom came to visit! So where do you go sightseeing in New England when your visitor does not care for big cities? Luckily, New England is full of small towns with interesting histories. We decided to visit Newport, Rhode Island, Salem, Massachusetts, and Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Biblical Art, The Frick Collection, 9/11 Memorial, Serendipity 3, & Broadway | New York City, NY

Well folks, my time in New England is almost over. In a week and a half I will be all packed up and ready to move back to Oklahoma. But in the meantime I am sightseeing!!!

I now have a lot of free time on my hands before I move back to Oklahoma so....it's time for more sightseeing!

I am finished with grad school!!! As of May 4, 2012, all of my internship hours, reports, and documentation are completed and turned in. Now I just need to wait until May 19th before it becomes official with Texas Tech University.

Mark Twain House & Museum, Grove Street Cemetery, Beineke Library, The Morgan Library, Dylan's Candy Bar, Broadway & Easter | New Haven, CT, New York City, NY, & Groton, CT

Well, it only took 7 months but I finally got an Oklahoman to visit me in Connecticut! My best friend and roommate from OSU, came to visit over Easter weekend. We visited a lot of sites in 4 days but it was so much fun! We toured Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe's houses in Hartford (fun fact they were neighbors).

The Cloisters and The Met | New York City, NY

One of the perks of interning at an art museum is that I get to help on bus trips. A major perk of interning in New England is that we take bus trips to places like The Cloisters and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Boston Public Library, Trinity Church, North End, Yale University Art Gallery, and Yale Center for British Art | Boston, MA & New Haven, CT

Life has been incredibly busy the past few weeks so I will be posting several entries at once. I had the opportunity to make another trip to Boston, and to visit the Yale University Art Gallery and the Yale Center for British Art.

So far, Boston is probably my favorite large city that I have visited. It has an incredibly rich history, lots of artwork and cultural sites to visit, and it's large but it does not have the super fast pace or air of self-importance like New York City.

On this trip I visited the Boston Public Library and saw some incredible murals, Trinity Church in Copley Square, and the North End for some yummy gelato and a cannoli.
